FAQS
Do You Accept Insurance?
We are out-of-network with insurance. The reason being because it allows us to provide quality care without the insurance dictating what the patient needs or how long the patient is allowed to see us for treatment. Because of this, we get much better results than if we were to take insurance. However, our office does walk patients through how to get reimbursement from their insurance. We also offer payment assistance. Please call our office to see if you qualify. 859-879-0089.
What Is The Length Of The Program?
This varies from patient to patient, as it is dependent on diagnosis, complexity and patient’s consistency with therapy visits and home program. However, it generally takes 30 weeks to create those permanent pathways in the brain. Some patients need two rounds of therapy if they have a brain injury, strabismus/amblyopia, or developmental delays.
Will I Need Therapy For The Rest Of My Life?
No, you should not need vision therapy for the rest of your life if you complete the program as intended. Vision therapy works by creating permanent neural pathways in the brain that support improved visual skills. Once these pathways are established and reinforced, the skills become ingrained, and you’ll continue to benefit from them long after therapy ends. Unless there’s a significant event, like a brain injury, the progress you make is lasting, eliminating the need for ongoing therapy.
Am I Too Old To Make Improvements?
Absolutely NOT! This is the miraculous thing about our brains and nueroplasticity. We’ve had patients see improvements well into their 80s and 90s. Progress may take longer than some of our younger patients, but you are never too old and it is never too late to train your brain and create new pathways.
Can I Still Correct My Strabismus/ Amblyopia As a Grown Up?
Yes, strabismus and amblyopia can be effectively treated in adults through vision therapy. While these conditions are often addressed in childhood, our personalized therapy programs can help adults improve eye alignment and strengthen visual skills, leading to significant, lasting improvements in both vision and quality of life. It’s never too late to seek treatment and achieve better visual outcomes.
